Were you looking forward to Zlatan playing in World Cup 2018?
The spectacular striker who contributed for different teams like Inter, Milan, Juventus, Barcelona and now is a part of the Los Angeles Galaxy will be seen in the Russian World Cup 2018, but he won’t be taking to the field. The Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic suggested in his several communications in recent weeks that he has a chance of returning to this national team- who managed to rank a place in the finals beating their rival Italy. However, unlike what many sports bettors in Betin Kenya wanted, it’s not going to happen anytime soon.
Ibrahimovic will be present in the event representing the image of Visa in a campaign, which aims to encourage the increase of electronic payments made my fans enjoying the tournament.
Can You Catch a Glimpse of Him?
You might, if you are heading to Russia for the World Cup.
Ibrahimovic released the news to the public through a weird video broadcasted in his social networks which took the form of a press conference. It’s interesting and presents the pride of Ibrahimovic when he expressed that a World Cup is not worth viewing in his absence. The part played by Ibrahimovic in the World Cup will portray the technologies of the company that pays for the sponsorship. It will enable fans to avoid any delay and make payments quickly without missing the excitement of the tournament.
Visa will be the sole organization to be present in the event and will provide exclusive payment services. It will implement 3,500 point of sale terminal to facilitate payments coupled with allowing fans to use cashless ways for transaction with contactless technology. It will also provide bracelets and rings which can be used for payments or through prepaid cards.
The fans of Sweden are really disappointed as they are not going to catch Ibrahimovic in action in the summer World Cup. He quit the Galaxy in June when the club granted his permission to visit Russia and represent his sponsors, especially Russia.
About His Track Record in Major Championships
Ibrahimovic also played in the World Cup and has the record for national team goals scoring 62 hits in 116 chances. He retired after his stint with Sweden and backed from the first round of the 2016 European Championships. But after he has associated himself with Galaxy, he expressed that he might try out for the national Sweden World Cup team. However, it doesn’t seem that likely after a post by Swedish national team’s Instagram profile.
The post, which is perhaps the final message in this regard, said that Zlatan is not going to compete in the World Cup. A statement on the team’s website comments that Zlatan had previously turned down the chance to play for Sweden and that hasn’t changed. National team manager Lars Richt talked with Zlatan but with no success. He did not manage to change the mind of Zlatan. After the Galaxy’s training session Zlatan said he is going to the World Cup but is not going to participate in it.
