When our opponents obsess about power, we obsess about how
to extend freedom, fairness, opportunity to every South African.
That is the difference between us and them. And it is that abiding commitment that will guide us to victory.
Our values are the glue that holds us together, despite our differences in race, gender, culture, sexual orientation and all the other beautiful differences that make South Africa’s people special.
We are a party united in diversity.
We are party united in building a South Africa that belongs to all who live in it.
We must therefore stand united, as a party, against those who seek to divide us.
Especially those who seek to divide us on race.
Let those political parties who trade on pitting South Africans against each other know that they will not succeed.
South Africa will defeat you.
Your attempts to foster hatred between us will fail.

The DA Federal Congress agreed to amend its constitution to include a recall clause for members of the party appointed or elected to executive posts.
“If a president, premier, mayor or any public representative elected or appointed into executive office in a DA government has lost the confidence of his or her caucus, the Federal Executive may, after giving him or her the opportunity to make representations to it, resolve to require him or her to resign from his or her office within 48 hours.
“Failure by that member to resign will lead to the cessation of his or her membership of the party.
“Any such vote of no confidence requires the leave of the federal executive before it is moved in the caucus.”
