The fire on Wednesday that began in Ocean View and ravaged the mountain en route to Red Hill and parts of Simon’s Town, left one house gutted in Paradise Road and two others damaged.
In a matter of hours the winds changed forcing mass evacuations and road closures.
Thanks to TEARS, countless volunteers and various Rescue organizations, animals in the protected areas of Cape Nature were saved from a horrific fate, although tragically for some it came too late.
These extraordinary people show an unrelenting unending commitment to save those that cannot save themselves – thank you!
AND thank you as always to the firefighters, paid and voluntary, the many emergency service personnel and the concerned residents who step-up time and time again!
